Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation graphics program available under MS-Office that allows a user to create professional Presentation.

Microsoft-PowerPoint provides the facility to create presentation using slides. Slides are just like pages where the contents of the contents of the presentation can be written. PowerPoint supports multimedia features such as pictures, movie, sound, graphics animation etc. It has different types of themes, background style and text formatting features. It has custom animation, transition sound header & footer, smart art, word art, table, clip art, picture tools to develop attractive presentations. It has master slide, custom show, set-up, show feature to set the features of PowerPoint. In a presentation created in PowerPoint, new slide can be inserted easily and slide layout can be changed easily. 
How to open PowerPoint?
start > all program > MS office> MS PowerPoint 
or 
Press Win+r > Type powerpnt > ok

To format the text of a text box

Click on the outline of text box to select
 Change the font style of the text
 Change the font size of the text
 Change the font color of the text
 Fill color in the shape using Shape Fill
 Change the color of outline using Shape Outline
 Apply shape effect using Shape effects Change the color of text outline using Text Outline in Format Menu
 Apply text effect using Text Effects in Format Menu

To apply Animation on text box, word art or Picture etc.

 Select the objects (text box, word art or Picture etc.) of slide.
 Click on Animation Tab
 Click on Custom Animation
 Click on Add Effect
 Choose the type of Animation
 Choose the speed of Animation

To set Transition Sound and Timing of Slide

 Select the slide
 Click on Animation Tab
 Choose Transition Effect
 Choose Transition Sound
 Choose Transition Timing
 If you want the format for all slide click on Apply to all
 Choose how the slide will come On mouse click or Automatically after
 If you select Automatically after set the timing for that and again click on Apply to all

To set the background of slide

 Select the slide
 Click on Design Tab
 Choose the Theme or,Click on Background style button
 Choose background

To set any picture as background of the slide

 Click on Design Tab
 Click on Background Style button
 Click on Format Background button
 Choose Picture
 Click on File
 Select the picture you want to insert

To insert a New slide

 Click on Home Tab
 Click on New Slide
 Click on layout and choose the option of blank

Home Menu

 New slide – To insert a new slide
 Slide Layout – To change the layout of active slide 
 Delete Slide – To delete active slide
 Character Spacing – To adjust the gap between characters
 Columns – To write text into two or more than two columns
 Text Shadow – To apply shadow on the text
 Text Direction – To change the direction of the Text
 Shape Fill – To fill color in Text Box or Word Art
 Shape Outline – To change the color of the outline of the Text Box or Word Art
 Shape Effects – To apply effects on Text Box or Word Art Box

Insert Menu

 Table – To insert Table in slide (If you want to do formatting related to table click on ‘Design’ or ‘Layout’ Menu)
 Picture – To insert picture in slide (If you want to do formatting related to picture click on ‘Format’ Menu)
 Photo Album – To create a presentation based on Photo
 Shapes – To insert shapes in slide
 Smart Art – To insert Smart Art graphics into slide
 Header and Footer – To Header or Footer into slide
 Word Art – To insert Word Art Text into slide
 Date and Time – To insert current Date and Time into slide
 Symbol – To insert Symbol in a slide  Sound – To insert any sound file into slide

Design Menu

 Page Setup – To do setup of the page
 Themes – To apply themes on slide
 Color – To set the color of the theme
 Font – To set the font of the theme
 Effects – To apply theme effect on slide
 Background Style – To set the background of the slide
 Hide Background Graphics – To hide the graphics of the slide Animation Menu
 Preview – To view the preview of the slide
 Animate – To set preset animation of selected objects
 Custom Animation – To set the animation of objects
 Slide Transition – To apply Transition Effects on slide
 Transition Sound – To set Transition Sound on slide
 Advance slide - On mouse click – - Automatically After –
 Apply to all – To apply the transition effect, sound, time, and speed on all slides.

Slide Show Menu

 From Beginning – To view the presentation from beginning
 From Current Slide – To view the presentation from current slide
 Custom Slide Show – To View customized slide show
 Set up Slide Show – To apply settings related to the presentation
 Hide Slide – To hide Active slide
 Record Narration – To record any conversation using microphone and insert it to slide 

PowerPoint Shortcuts Keys for working in windows & dialog boxes - In a Window

 Switch to the next program – Alt+Tab
 Switch to the previous program – Alt+Shift+Tab
 Show the Window Start Menu – Ctrl+Esc
 Close the active presentation window – Ctrl+W
 Restore the active presentation window – Ctrl+F5
 Select a folder or a file in Save As or Open dialog box – Tab+ - In a Dialog Box
 Switch to the next tab – Ctrl+Tab
 Switch to the previous tab – Ctrl+Shift+Tab
 Move to next option – Tab
 Cancel a command and close the dialog box – Esc - In a Text Box
 Move to the beginning of the entry – Home
 Move to the end of the entry – End
 Move one word to the left – Ctrl+
 Move one word to the right – Ctrl+
 Select from the insertion point to the beginning of the entry – Shift+Home
 Select from the insertion point to the end of the entry – Shift+End - Slide Show Control
 Move to next slide – N, Enter Or Spacebar
 Return to the previous slide – P or Backspace
 Go to a slide Number - +Enter
 Display a black screen or return to the slide show from the black screen – B
 Display a white screen or return to the slide show from the white screen – W
 Stop or restart an automatic slide show – S
 End a slide show – Esc
 Change the pointer to pen – Ctrl +P
 Change the pen to the pointer – Ctrl+A
